LPHR and Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights (based in Gaza) are working relentlessly on behalf of Palestinian victims, survivors and their families to pursue accountability for the commission of clearly apparent serious violations of international criminal, humanitarian and human rights law. This critically important work includes substantive engagement with relevant international accountability and investigatory mechanisms, including the International Criminal Court and UN independent Commission of Inquiry into the 2014 Gaza Conflict.
A core focus of our dedicated legal work and advocacy since July 2014 has been on the military targeting of family homes in Gaza due to the scale and gravity of civilian harm it caused: over 66 per cent of children (370 out of 556 child fatalities) and over 82 per cent of women (241 out of 293 woman fatalities) were killed by attacks whilst inside their homes in Gaza during the seven-week hostilities in 2014.
For examples of our ongoing work since July 2014, please see the following:

LPHR and Al Mezan Update to its September 2014 report to the UN Commission of Inquiry on large-scale destruction and damage to family houses in the Gaza Strip, with associated profound loss of life and injury to Palestinian residents, during Israel’s military operation between 7 July and 26 August 2014 (published December 2016. This update includes a survey of affected families on their hope for justice)
LPHR, Al Mezan and Medical Aid for Palestinians Report: No More Impunity: Gaza’s Health Sector Under Attack (published June 2015)
LPHR and Al Mezan Submission to the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on the 2014 Gaza Conflict concerning large-scale destruction and damage to family houses in the Gaza Strip, with associated profound loss of life and injury to Palestinian residents, during Israel’s military operation between 7 July 2014 and 26 August 2014 (published September 2014 – alongside a public statement that summarises our findings based on an assessment of 40 grave violation incidents. LPHR subsequently had a private meeting in Geneva in February 2015 with the Commission to discuss our legal analysis, which conformed with the analysis contained in the Commission’s subsequent report. The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has indicated that the Commission’s report is key evidence for her preliminary examination into the situation in Palestine)
