For the third time in three days, scores of starving Palestinians have been unlawfully killed or maimed in southern Gaza, reportedly mostly by gunshot wounds fired by Israeli forces, en route to food distribution sites established by the Israel and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The GHF is a newly developed aid distribution scheme that the UN has condemned for violating humanitarian principles and engineering scarcity.
As with the 110-plus starving Palestinian civilians killed on 29 February 2024 whilst desperately seeking food for their survival, the indiscriminate mass firing into crowds of starving Palestinian civilians, exemplify a horrifically devastating conflict that must end now.
The repeated unlawful killing and maiming of masses of starving Palestinians in Gaza requires thorough and independent international investigation and accountability. There must be full legal accountability and justice for victims and survivors, in order to fundamentally uphold that common humanity will not allow egregious crimes scarring humanity to go unpunished.
