Accountability and human rights at 50 years of occupation
13th June 2017 @ 6:45 pm - 10:00 pm
Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights/Medical Aid for Palestinians/Amnesty International UK
ACCOUNTABILITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS AT 50 YEARS OF OCCUPATION:
Michael Lynk, UN Special Rapporteur for human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, in conversation with Sir Geoffrey Bindman QC, followed by a Q&A and reception.
The human rights landscape for Palestinians is in deepening crisis as this June marks 50 years of Israel’s military occupation. The cumulative impact of half a century of dispossession, violence, barriers to healthcare and alleged violations of international human rights and humanitarian law is exacerbated by the absence of legal accountability. LPHR, MAP and AIUK are honoured to host two eminent experts to examine the international context and assess what can be done by relevant actors and civil society.
